Responsibilities of the Bartender

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

1. Customer Service: Interacting with customers, taking their orders, and ensuring they have a positive experience. Engaging with customers in a friendly, professional manner, and recommending food and beverages as needed.
2. Drink and Snack Preparation: Mixing and serving drinks, handling customer orders efficiently, and ensuring orders meet the highest quality standards.
3. Maintaining the Bar Area: Ensuring the bar area is clean and tidy throughout the shift. This includes replenishing condiments, water, napkins, and other essentials, as well as cleaning glasses and utensils.
4. Stock Management: Preparing stock requisitions, rotating stock, and ensuring fridges are stocked adequately. Taking into account busy periods and events, ensuring sufficient stock levels at all times.
5. Float Handling: Counting and managing float money in the presence of the F&B Supervisor, handling customer payments accurately, and reconciling all sales at the end of the shift.
6. Order Management: Entering orders into the POS system, checking customer identification for age requirements when needed, and communicating order delays promptly.
7. Complaint Handling: Addressing and recording customer complaints efficiently, and reporting these to the supervisor as per company protocol.
8. Compliance and Accountability: Adhering to internal procedures and maintaining accountability for all sales and stock under the bartender’s control.
9. Preparing for Shift Changes: Ensuring the service area is clean and ready for the next shift, disclosing all breakages or wastage, and assisting with any ad hoc duties as required.

Skills and Experience Required

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

• Prior Experience: Previous experience in the service industry is essential.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers.
