A devastating hit-and-run accident in Centurion has claimed the life of a 15-year-old teenage boy on Saturday evening. The fatal incident occurred at the busy intersection of Rooihuiskraal Road and Ruimte Road, leaving the community in shock.
Emergency Services Responded but Could Not Save the Boy
According to Tshwane Emergency Services, they received a call regarding the pedestrian accident at around 19:26. A fire engine from Heuweloord Fire Station was dispatched to the scene, where emergency responders found that the teenager had been struck by a vehicle.
Despite efforts by private emergency medical service providers to treat the boy on-site, he succumbed to his injuries. Reports indicate that the driver of the vehicle did not stop after the accident, leading authorities to classify it as a hit-and-run.
Investigation Underway
Emergency personnel handed over the scene to the South African Police Service (SAPS) for further investigation. Authorities have yet to release additional details, and no arrests have been made at this stage.
