Major Changes in EFF Parliamentary Caucus Aim to Strengthen Opposition

    The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) recently announced significant changes to their parliamentary leadership, prompted by the resignation of key members, Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi and Yazini Tetyana.     The resignations of Ndlozi and Tetyana created vacancies that necessitated the reconfiguration of the EFF parliamentary caucus. Naledi Chirwa, a prominent EFF member known for her youth advocacy and dedication, has replaced Ndlozi in the National Assembly.

    Strategic Realignment

    The EFF emphasized that the reshuffle aligns with their commitment to youth leadership, experience, and organizational efficiency. According to the party, this strategic realignment aims to ensure the caucus remains a strong opposition capable of promoting progressive legislation and uplifting South Africans from poverty and hopelessness.

    EFF national chairperson Nontando Nolutshungu will now serve as the chief whip, supported by treasurer general Omphile Maotwe and other prominent leaders, including Veronica Mente, Natasha Ntlangwini, Hlengiwe Mkhalipi, Sam Matisse, and Mandisa Makesini.

    The resignation of Ndlozi, a former spokesperson for the EFF, and Yazini Tetyana, came shortly after the EFF’s December elective conference, where new leadership structures were established. Ndlozi’s absence at the conference was particularly notable.
