Former EFF National Spokesperson, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, Steps Down, Citing Personal Reasons and Party Challenges
Mbuyiseni Ndlozi Announces His Resignation
Popular Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Member of Parliament (MP), Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, has officially announced his resignation from Parliament after serving nearly a decade as a representative for the party. The announcement came on Thursday, with the EFF confirming that Ndlozi, along with fellow MP Yazini Tetyana, submitted their voluntary resignation requests to the party.
Speculations About His Absence From the EFF Congress
Ndlozi, who has been an MP since May 2014, did not attend the party’s recent national congress held in Nasrec, Johannesburg, in December. This provoked widespread speculation about his future within the organization. Reports suggested a fallout between Ndlozi and EFF leader Julius Malema, leading to questions about his alignment with the party’s leadership.
EFF Acknowledges Ndlozi’s Long Service
In a press release, the EFF acknowledged Ndlozi’s long service and thanked him for his contributions. “The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has received the voluntary resignations of fighter Yazini Tetyana and fighter Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi as representatives of the EFF in the Parliament of South Africa,” the party said.
Impact on the EFF and Future of Leadership
Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, known for his outspoken stance on economic freedom and his role as the party’s national spokesperson, had been a significant figure in the EFF since its entry into Parliament. His departure marks a pivotal moment for the party as it navigates future challenges.
Wishing Them Well in Their Future Endeavors
The EFF also emphasized the commitment both Ndlozi and Tetyana had shown during their tenure. “They have both been exemplary in their deployments and acted as commendable public representatives,” the party noted, wishing them success in their future endeavours.
