Key Requirements
- Applicants must have an appropriate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) or National Diploma in IT-related fields, or an equivalent qualification in Information Security at NQF Level 6 (360 Credits) as recognized by SAQA.
- Hold CISSP, CISM, CASP, or SABSA Certificates or equivalent certification.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT Systems Security and ICT Governance.
- Proven experience in IT Security Policy Development and administration.
- Working knowledge and experience with ISO 27001, along with other related information security standards and frameworks.
- A solid understanding of IT threats and vulnerabilities.
- A good understanding of IT security system tools.
- Knowledge of Public Service Regulations.
- Knowledge of IT Governance, including Information Security Governance.
- Skills in Project Management.
- Capabilities in Information Security architecture.
- A broad understanding of IT.
- Understanding of Information Security Technologies.
- Knowledge of Risk Management frameworks.

Role Responsibilities and Duties:
- Implementing and overseeing the Information Security and Cybersecurity Programme.
- Developing and enforcing ICT Security Policies and Procedures.
- Coordinating security audits and addressing findings.
- Providing leadership within the ICT project management office.
- Drive and ensure the implementation of the Public Service Information Security Policy.
- Ensure departmental information security governance, practices, and procedures are in place.
- Develop and maintain the Information Security Management Framework.
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor the Information Security and Cybersecurity Programme to ensure its implementation, continuous monitoring, and review.
- Conduct continuous vulnerability management as part of the ICT Risk Management Programme.
- Develop ICT Security Policy and Procedures and monitor their implementation.
- Implement an effective information security awareness program.
- Plan and implement an IT Security skills programme for users and ICT personnel.
- Champion and educate the organization about the latest security strategies and technologies.
- Ensure that information security is integrated into all stages of the systems development life cycle.
- Ensure physical security measures are in place for all IT assets.
- Monitor the IT infrastructure for security-related events.
- Develop and maintain ICT continuity plans.
- Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery Plans, including DR testing.
- Schedule and manage all periodic security audits.
- Coordinate the action plans to address findings from internal and external audits.
- Oversee the ICT project management office and provide leadership to the team.
- Coordinate technical controls defined within the Information Security Management Framework or program.
- Develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly plans and reports for the Information Security environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: R811,560 – R952,485 per annum (Level 11, all-inclusive package).
