ANC’s Renewed Commitment to Eradicate Government Corruption in Honour of Gordhan’s Memory, Says Mbalula
The ANC has committed to honouring the legacy of Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan by stepping up its fight against government corruption. Speaking at a memorial service for Gordhan, ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula expressed the party’s intention to eliminate corruption and embrace clean governance. Mbalula acknowledged that corruption has tainted the party’s reputation but reiterated their dedication to restoring integrity, aligning with Gordhan’s ideals of accountability and transparency.
The call for reform is particularly timely as South Africa continues to struggle with government corruption scandals that have undermined public trust in the ruling party. Gordhan, known for his stance on ethical governance, was regarded as a symbol of the fight against state capture during his tenure as Minister of Finance and later Public Enterprises.
