Unmissable Offers and Free Delivery to Over 3,000 Locations Across the Country

Amazon has officially kicked off its first-ever Black Friday sale in South Africa, offering discounts of up to 50% on a wide selection of products through Amazon.co.za. The sale, which started on 1 November and will continue through 2 December 2024, promises South Africans impressive deals across various categories, from tech and electronics to everyday essentials.

Amazon’s Black Friday Deals: What Shoppers Can Expect

Amazon’s managing director for sub-Saharan Africa, Robert Koen, expressed excitement about bringing these promotions to South African customers, stating, “As this is the first year we will be participating in Black Friday, we have worked hard to listen to and learn from our South African customers.” To enhance the experience, Amazon launched an Early Black Friday store for November, allowing shoppers to access new discounts each day.

This first-ever Black Friday sale features thousands of products, with exclusive deals on items from local and international brands. Noteworthy deals currently available include:

  • 29% off the JBL Go 3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker — Now available for R636.
  • 20% off the Xbox Series S 1TB Console — Now available for R7,999.
  • 50% off the Logitech Optical Bluetooth POP Mouse — Now available for R299.
  • SanDisk Extreme Pro 1TB Portable SSD — Marked down to R3,478.

The deals continue to change daily, with limited-time discounts added throughout November.

Extended Delivery Hours and Free Shipping

To ensure a smooth shopping experience, Amazon has bolstered its delivery services across South Africa. Items sold and shipped by Amazon qualify for free standard delivery, with extended delivery hours in major cities such as Johannesburg and Cape Town. During the Black Friday and holiday season, deliveries are scheduled up until 20:00. Additionally, Amazon has partnered with over 3,000 pick-up points nationwide to make online shopping more convenient.

Shopping Options and Tips

The deals are accessible via the Amazon mobile app or the Amazon.co.za website, where certain offers are limited to 24 hours or while stocks last. For the best shopping experience, customers are encouraged to check back frequently for new deals and to act quickly on must-have items. With thousands of discounted options, Amazon hopes to cater to all kinds of holiday shoppers, whether they’re on the lookout for everyday essentials or popular gift items.

Robert Koen expressed Amazon’s dedication to making the Black Friday shopping experience memorable for South Africans, saying, “With thousands of international and local products available on Amazon.co.za, we know customers will find a wide selection from everyday essentials to the latest must-have gift options.”

Final Thoughts: Amazon’s First Black Friday in South Africa

Amazon’s inaugural Black Friday sale in South Africa is set to transform the online shopping landscape. With substantial discounts, extended delivery hours, and a focus on convenient collection points, Amazon aims to make the shopping season hassle-free and accessible. South Africans can look forward to grabbing the latest gadgets, home essentials, and festive gifts at unbeatable prices throughout the month.
