Renault has officially taken the wraps off the sixth-generation Clio at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, showcasing a bold new design, upgraded technology, and fresh powertrain options. The popular hatchback now enters a new era with sharper styling and smarter features aimed at both urban commuters and driving enthusiasts.
Striking Exterior Design
The new Clio’s look is a significant departure from its predecessor. The front end is dominated by a redesigned grille framed by sleek headlights and distinctive LED daytime running lights integrated into a more sculpted bumper. At the rear, the model gains modern split taillamps, further enhancing its dynamic stance.
Dimensionally, the new Clio measures 4,116 mm in length and 1,768 mm in width – making it slightly longer (+66 mm) but marginally narrower (–30 mm) than before. The wheelbase has grown by 8 mm to 2,591 mm, improving cabin proportions. Boot capacity remains at 391 litres, though Renault notes this varies depending on the chosen powertrain.

Fresh Engine Lineup
For 2025, the Clio offers two new engines. The first is an 85 kW/190 Nm 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder paired exclusively with a five-speed manual gearbox. The second option is a 1.8-litre four-cylinder hybrid producing 118 kW.
Renault claims fuel efficiency of 5.0 L/100 km for the petrol-only variant, while the hybrid – capable of running in electric mode for up to 80% of urban driving – delivers an impressive 3.9 L/100 km on the combined cycle. This marks a notable improvement over the outgoing South African lineup, which currently features a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 74 kW and 160 Nm.

Modern Tech-Packed Interior
Inside, the sixth-gen Clio embraces digital innovation. The cabin features dual 10.1-inch displays – one for instrumentation and the other for infotainment – powered by Renault’s Google-based OpenR Link system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, while built-in apps like Google Maps, Amazon Music, and Prime Video elevate the in-car experience.
