Powertrain & Performance
The C9 PHEV is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is smaller than the 2.0-litre engines found in other C9 models. However, the real performance advantage comes from its four electric motors—one on each wheel—resulting in a combined output of 415kW and 915Nm of torque.
This makes the hybrid SUV significantly more powerful than its non-hybrid counterparts and capable of reaching 0-100km/h in just 4.9 seconds. For comparison, the VW Tiguan R does it in 5.1 seconds, and the lighter Golf R completes it in 4.8 seconds.
The 34.5kWh battery offers up to 150km of pure electric range. When used in hybrid mode, the C9 can achieve a total range of over 1,100km. Fast charging is supported up to 70kW, allowing the battery to recharge from 30% to 80% in about 25 minutes. A full charge via a home wall box takes around 5.5 hours.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the PHEV can consume as little as 1.4l/100km when making full use of the hybrid system. This increases to around 6.9l/100km when relying mostly on the petrol engine.
