However, the authenticity of the results provided remains questionable. When contacted, Edumarks’ listed phone number went unanswered, and inquiries sent via WhatsApp received only automated responses.
Public Outcry and Calls for Accountability

Crime activist Yusuf Abramjee voiced his concerns on social media, questioning how the results were leaked and who stands to profit from this apparent breach of confidentiality. Abramjee emphasized that the Department of Basic Education (DBE) must respond decisively and hold those responsible accountable if any policies or laws were violated.
In a similar vein, education activist Hendrick Makaneta called for transparency from both Edumarks and the DBE.

“I paid the money and it shows ‘pending’. I am hoping for a refund from Edumarks. I guess I’ll have to wait until Tuesday for my results.”
Another learner who received their results expressed mixed emotions, noting that while they felt relieved to know they had passed, the situation left them questioning the legitimacy of the service.
