On 28 October 2025, eight suspects were arrested after a business robbery in Centurion’s Sunderland Ridge, a commercial and industrial hub west of Pretoria. The suspects reportedly stormed a business at gunpoint, loaded stolen stock into a truck, and attempted to flee with support from a second vehicle — a Kia SUV acting as an escort.

According to Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, spokesperson for the Gauteng SAPS:
“The security was alerted, and they traced the truck and the vehicle at R55 road near Raslouw in the Wierdabrug policing precinct. Shots were fired between security personnel and suspects.”
During the shootout, one suspect and a security officer sustained gunshot injuries. Police were alerted during the exchange, arriving on the scene to arrest all eight suspects, including the injured one.
Weapons and Vehicles Seized by Police
Law enforcement recovered key evidence during the operation. Two unlicensed firearms, the truck carrying the stolen goods, and the getaway Kia vehicle were confiscated for forensic investigation.
Colonel Nevhuhulwi confirmed:
“Two firearms, the truck and the vehicle were also seized for further investigations.”
The suspects now face charges including armed robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms, and attempted murder. Investigations are ongoing.
