A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the Mamelodi Double Murder, which shocked the Tshwane community on Sunday, 27 October 2025. Gauteng police confirmed the arrest was made the following day at a local filling station.
According to official police reports, the man now faces two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. He is expected to appear in the Mamelodi Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 30 October.

Victims Found with Gunshot Wounds in Mamelodi East
On the morning of the incident, police responded to a crime scene in Mamelodi East Extension 17, where the bodies of two young women, aged 21 and 22, were discovered. Both had sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the head.
Police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed:
“Upon arrival, police found the bodies of two female victims… both with gunshot wounds to the head.”
The victims were declared dead at the scene, while a third woman, also injured during the shooting, was rushed to the hospital and remains under medical care.
Man Arrested for Mamelodi Double Murder Faces Attempted Murder Charge
During the investigation, police identified a potential suspect who was later located and arrested at a petrol station. According to Captain Sibeko, a preliminary investigation has linked the man to the fatal shooting, although the motive behind the crime remains unclear at this stage.
“Police investigation revealed that a third victim, who was shot during the incident, is receiving medical treatment at hospital,” added Sibeko.
The suspect has not yet entered a plea, and more details are expected to emerge during his court appearance.

The Mamelodi Double Murder has sparked deep concern among residents, particularly due to the nature of the attack. Many in the community have expressed fear over the rising trend of violent crime in the area.
