Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) has unveiled the Toyota HiAce PWD (Persons with Disabilities), a model that places accessibility and inclusivity at the centre of mobility.
Built on the trusted HiAce Ses’fikile platform, the PWD variant has been purposefully reimagined to provide safe and effortless travel for wheelchair users, aligning with Toyota’s global vision of becoming a leading mobility solutions provider.
Accessibility at the Core
The standout feature of the HiAce PWD is its automated rear ramp, designed to make wheelchair boarding and disembarking smooth and dignified. With this innovation, Toyota removes barriers to ensure every passenger has the freedom to travel without compromise.
Inside, the 16-seater HiAce has been adapted to carry nine seated passengers plus a wheelchair occupant. The wheelchair is securely positioned at the rear, with front and back restraints for stability. A ramp extension ensures effortless access, and when not in use, the ramp folds away neatly to preserve cabin space.

Safety, Comfort, and Reliability
Passenger comfort and security remain top priorities. The PWD retains three original rows of HiAce seating, creating a familiar yet practical layout. True to the HiAce legacy, this version also delivers proven reliability and strength, powered by a 2.7-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.
Exclusively available in Ivory White with a dark grey interior, the HiAce PWD offers a clean and professional finish suitable for family, school, and transport operator use.

More Than Just a Vehicle
“This introduction affirms TSAM’s commitment to creating a more inclusive transport landscape,” says Tasneem Lorgat, TSAM’s general manager of marketing communications. “The HiAce PWD is not just a vehicle – it’s a promise to make mobility accessible to all.”
Each HiAce PWD is built on order only, priced at R761 713, and comes standard with a 90 000km service plan (nine services) and a three-year/100 000km warranty.
