The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit will roar to life from 29 to 31 August 2025 as it hosts the eighth edition of the Festival of Motoring — now recognized as one of the largest automotive events in Africa. This year promises another high-octane weekend packed with thrilling showcases, track experiences, and interactive brand displays from both international and local automotive giants.
Leading Manufacturers Set to Impress
A wide array of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) have confirmed their presence, including big names like Volkswagen, Toyota, and Subaru. These automotive leaders are expected to use the platform not only for brand engagement but also to spotlight their most dynamic and performance-oriented models. Speculation is swirling that Volkswagen may use the event to debut the new Golf GTI for the South African market — although this has not yet been confirmed.

Chinese OEMs Make Their Mark
A notable shift in the local automotive landscape is also reflected in the presence of several Chinese manufacturers, such as Chery, GAC, LDV, and Ora. These brands are steadily gaining traction in the South African market and will no doubt look to bolster their appeal and visibility with immersive experiences and product displays at the event.
Lifestyle and Tech Exhibits
Adding to the excitement, over 100 lifestyle exhibitors will be on hand to showcase everything from off-road equipment to state-of-the-art in-car technology, offering a comprehensive glimpse into the broader motoring lifestyle ecosystem.

New Additions and Track Action
A major addition to this year’s festival is the Vilaca Racing Ultimate Car and Driver Challenge, a new competitive element that pits drivers against the clock in a high-stakes time attack showdown. This fresh format adds a pulse-raising dimension to an already jam-packed itinerary.
Other standout activities include:
- BMW Motorsport Club Series hot laps
- Simola Hill Climb demonstration runs
- Driving masterclasses by industry experts from MasterDrive
- Single-seater demonstrations across the full 4.5 km circuit
- Sunbet ZX10 Masters Cup Superbikes adding two-wheeled flair to the track
All on-track experiences will be available for booking starting mid-May.

Get Behind the Wheel
For those who want to get behind the wheel themselves, the festival will feature:
- A Self-Handling Track for personal test drives
- A rugged 4×4 Adventure Zone designed to push vehicles and drivers to the limit
