Lamborghini has officially introduced the all-new Temerario in South Africa, marking the highly anticipated successor to the Huracan. Initially unveiled almost a year ago, this cutting-edge supercar was recently showcased at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit ahead of its expected sales launch in 2026.
A Hybrid with a Performance Edge
The Temerario is Lamborghini’s third mass-produced plug-in hybrid, following in the footsteps of the Urus SE and the flagship Revuelto. Falling under the brand’s High Performance Electrified Vehicles (HPEV) lineup, the focus remains on delivering exceptional performance rather than maximizing electric range. Similar to the Revuelto, which features a 3.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the Temerario’s electric range is limited, underscoring its performance-driven nature.
Unveiled in a pre-production left-hand-drive model at Kyalami, the Temerario was not available for test drives. The supercar introduces a new powertrain, replacing the naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 that powered the Huracan and later versions of the Gallardo.

A New Heart Under the Hood
Instead of utilizing the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 found in the Urus SE, the Temerario boasts a completely new cross-plane V8 of the same displacement. This advanced engine delivers an impressive 588 kW and 730 Nm of torque even before factoring in its hybrid components.
Designed for extreme performance, the V8 revs up to 10,000 rpm and features an electric wastegate, carbon-coated valve fingers, and titanium connecting rods. Its unique firing order—1-5-3-7-4-8-2-6—sets it apart from its predecessors, offering a distinct driving experience.
Complementing this powerhouse are three electric motors and a battery pack identical in size to the Revuelto’s, boosting the Temerario’s total system output to an astounding 677 kW. Power is channeled to all four wheels through a newly developed eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Blistering Performance and Aerodynamic Excellence
Despite a curb weight of 1,670 kg, making it heavier than any Huracan variant, the Temerario boasts breathtaking acceleration. It rockets from 0-100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and achieves a top speed of 343 km/h. Unlike the Revuelto, Lamborghini has not disclosed the Temerario’s electric-only range, although the battery can be fully charged in 30 minutes using AC charging at up to 7 kW.
The Temerario’s aerodynamic efficiency has been significantly enhanced, featuring a 103% improvement over the Huracan and a 30% increase in cooling efficiency. The car comes equipped with standard 20-inch front and 21-inch rear alloy wheels and carbon-ceramic mono-block brakes, which incorporate a 10-piston caliper design at the front and four-piston at the rear, paired with massive 410 mm and 390 mm discs, respectively.

For enthusiasts seeking weight reduction, Lamborghini offers the Alleggerita package. This option shaves off an additional 25 kg by incorporating carbon fiber wheels, a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic front splitter, side skirts, engine cover, rear spoiler, and a titanium exhaust system.
A Fighter Jet-Inspired Cockpit
The interior of the Temerario draws inspiration from fighter jets, featuring a steering wheel identical to the Revuelto’s and a sleek, minimalist center console. The transmission controls are arranged in a cube-like format, with the starter button concealed beneath a signature red flip-up cover.
Lamborghini’s advanced “human-machine interface” includes three digital displays: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch central infotainment system, and a 9.1-inch passenger-side display. Enhancements over the Huracan include an additional 34 mm of headroom, 46 mm of extra legroom, and improved storage space behind the seats. A premium Sonus Faber sound system is also standard.

Driving Modes and Customization
The Temerario offers five distinct driving modes: Citta, Strada, Sport, Corsa, and Corsa Plus, with the latter completely disabling the Electronic Stability Programme for an unfiltered track experience. Additionally, Lamborghini provides three powertrain settings: Hybrid (default), Recharge (which utilizes the V8 to replenish the battery), and Performance (which combines full combustion and electric power for peak output).
