    Massive ATM Bombing at Jubilee Mall in Hammanskraal: Police Hunt for Suspects

    Authorities have launched a massive manhunt for a group of 30 armed robbers who bombed five ATMs at Jubilee Mall in Hammanskraal, Pretoria, in the early hours of March 16, 2025. The brazen attack resulted in a shootout with police and private security officers, leaving one security guard injured.

    Heist at Jubilee Mall: What Happened?

    According to Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, the gang arrived at the shopping centre around 1:30 AM, travelling in a bakkie. They ambushed a private security guard, stole his firearm, and proceeded to rob another security officer of his cell phone.

    Once inside the mall, the suspects detonated explosives on five ATMs, gaining access to large sums of cash. They also broke into a store and bombed a drop safe before attempting to flee.

    Shootout with Police

    As the robbers were making their escape, police and private security officers confronted them, resulting in a dramatic gun battle. During the exchange, a security officer was shot and wounded before the suspects managed to flee the scene.

    Despite the chaos, no arrests have been made yet, and authorities are still tracking the suspects.

    Mall’s Response & Ongoing Investigation

    Following the attack, Jubilee Mall issued a statement confirming the robbery and temporarily closing the mall. The management assured the public that they were enhancing security measures and cooperating with law enforcement to ensure safety.

    At this stage, police have not confirmed how much money was stolen. Investigators urge anyone with information to come forward.
