South Africans can now satisfy their midnight cravings with Woolworths’ new ‘After Dark’ delivery service, in partnership with Uber Eats and Engen Quickshop. The service is designed to bring convenience to night owls, offering selected Woolies products for delivery until midnight in various locations across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape.
How Does Woolworths After Dark Delivery Work?
Customers can order Woolworths food and essentials from select Engen Woolworths Foodstops via the Uber Eats app. Whether it’s a Chuckles craving, a quick dinner fix, or forgotten lunchbox snacks, the service ensures quality and freshness using Woolies’ trusted cold chain technology.

Currently, the service operates in 24 locations, with nine more set to launch by the end of March.

Cikida Gcali, General Manager for Grocery & Retail at Uber Eats, confirmed that previous trials saw exceptional demand, with 20% of participating store sales happening after dark.
With on-demand grocery delivery booming, Woolworths is taking it a step further—not just speed, but extended availability.
