Predictions for SASSA Grants in Budget 2025
Given the trend of annual increases, it is likely that SASSA grants will rise again in April 2025. However, the extent of the increase will depend on government budget allocations and economic factors.
Here’s what we might expect:
- Older Persons and Disability Grants: A rise of between R90 – R110, reaching around R2,270 – R2,290.
- Child Support Grant: Could increase by R20 – R30, reaching around R550 – R560.
- SRD Grant: The current R370 might see a small adjustment, but a significant increase is unlikely.
Will There Be a Mid-Year Increase?
In previous years, an additional R10 – R20 was added to Older Persons, Disability, and War Veterans grants in October. If this trend continues, beneficiaries could see a second increase in late 2025.
The Budget Speech 2025 will determine the final SASSA grant adjustments, but based on the last five years, incremental increases are expected. Beneficiaries should stay informed and plan accordingly as the government announces official figures.
