Entrepreneur Bounces Back with Likwids23 Sneaker Line After Financial Setback
Lekau Sehoana’s Comeback After Drip Footwear’s Liquidation
South African entrepreneur Lekau Sehoana has made a strong return to the sneaker industry after his former brand, Drip Footwear, was liquidated in September 2024. Sehoana faced financial struggles when the Johannesburg High Court ordered the liquidation following a R20 million debt owed to Wideopen Platform, an advertising company specializing in large-scale marketing.
After months of financial hardship, legal battles, and personal challenges, Sehoana is back with a fresh sneaker line, Likwidz23, under his new brand, DRIP Sportif.
The Liquidation of Drip Footwear
Drip Footwear, once a dominant name in South African streetwear, faced liquidation on September 9, 2024. The brand was unable to pay off debts, which led to an extensive financial investigation. Attorney Kim Warren, representing Wideopen Platform, confirmed that Drip Footwear owed the company millions for advertising services.

Following the court order, Sehoana revealed that he faced frozen bank accounts, asset attachments, and subpoenaed staff members, accountants, lawyers, and auditors. Despite these obstacles, he was determined to rebuild his business empire.
The Birth of Likwidz23: Sehoana’s New Sneaker Brand
Sehoana did not allow Drip Footwear’s downfall to define his future. He took time to reflect, strategize, and come back stronger. His new sneaker collection, Likwidz23, was officially launched in February 2025 and is now available exclusively at TAPE stores nationwide.
To mark his return, Sehoana celebrated the grand opening of Officially Tape at Mall of Africa, a significant milestone in his new business journey.
Addressing Divorce Settlement Rumours
Apart from business challenges, Sehoana has also been dealing with personal struggles. Rumours surfaced that he was ordered to pay R200,000 in spousal support to his estranged wife. However, on March 2, 2025, his representatives denied these claims, stating that all divorce settlement discussions had ceased in July 2024.
Sehoana previously addressed eviction allegations involving his ex-wife and son, explaining that his legal team advised him against commenting further on the matter.
What’s Next for Lekau Sehoana?
With the launch of Likwidz23, Sehoana is determined to rebuild his reputation and solidify his presence in the sneaker industry once again. His Officially Tape store at Mall of Africa marks the beginning of a new chapter, proving his resilience and ability to rise from financial setbacks.
