The highly anticipated facelifted new Audi A3 is set to debut in South Africa in this year’s first quarter, following a delayed launch initially planned for late 2024. This refreshed model brings a modernised design, upgraded interior, and advanced technology, promising an even more refined driving experience.
According to Duoporta Vehicle Information Specialists, the new Audi A3 will be available in four specifications, with prices starting at R808,200.
Audi A3 Sleek and Sporty Design
The new Audi A3 will be available in both Sportback and Sedan body styles, each featuring a striking visual overhaul. Enhancements include a wider hexagonal grille, redesigned side air intakes, a sleeker front spoiler, and a sportier rear bumper with an aggressive diffuser.
The headlights have been upgraded to a more futuristic design, featuring 24 individual pixels arranged in three rows, customisable into one of four daytime running light configurations.

Modernised Interior and Features
Inside, Audi has focused on improving comfort and functionality. The aircon vents now boast a chrome finish, while the centre console has been reworked to include a new gearstick, improved cupholders, and an integrated armrest.
Drivers will also enjoy the latest Audi “Virtual Cockpit” digital driver display, paired with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
For the 2025 model, the base and Advanced trim levels have been dropped, making the S Line the new entry-level option. Standard features on the S Line include:
- 18-inch alloy wheels
- Keyless start
- Flat-bottom leather multifunction sports steering wheel
- Sports seats with Dinamica microfibre upholstery
- Ambient lighting
- Panoramic glass sunroof
- Wireless phone charger
- Sonos 3D premium sound system
- Additional USB-C charging ports for rear passengers
- Assistance systems such as cruise control, lane-departure warning, emergency braking assist, and front/rear parking sensors

For those seeking a sportier aesthetic, the Black Edition trim enhances the design with blacked-out elements on the alloy wheels, mirror caps, and Audi’s iconic Four Rings logo. This variant also upgrades the seat covers to full leatherette.
Additional optional extras include a rearview or surround-view camera, Matrix LED headlights, heated seats, and adaptive cruise control.
Powertrain and Performance
At launch, the A3 will be available in its base 35TFSI variant, equipped with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 110kW and 250Nm. Paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission, the A3 can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 8.2 seconds, with a top speed of 219km/h. This variant also benefits from mild-hybrid technology, contributing to an average fuel consumption of 6.2l/100km.
A more powerful 40TFSI variant is expected in the future, featuring a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 140kW and 320Nm. This upgrade will allow for a quicker 0-100km/h time of 7.4 seconds and a higher top speed of 249km/h.
