Dr. Phophi Ramathuba emphasized the importance of staying informed and prepared. Although Cyclone Dikeledi is not expected to directly impact South Africa, its proximity to Mozambique poses potential risks to areas bordering Limpopo.

    • D3110 at Olifant Village
    • Tamboti Bridge connecting the R518 to Lephalale

The overflow of the Palala Dam has prompted the temporary evacuation of Witport Hospital in Lephalale. Residents in need of healthcare services are advised to use alternative facilities, including Shongoane, Abotspoort, and Seleka clinics, or Elisras Hospital in emergencies.

    Safety Precautions for Limpopo Residents

Residents are strongly urged to exercise caution, particularly in low-lying areas prone to flooding. The Limpopo government recommends:

    1. Avoid crossing low-lying bridges during heavy rains.
    2. Postpone non-essential travel on affected routes.
    3. Keep children away from rivers and streams during flood conditions.
