Former Orlando Pirates forward Kermit Erasmus has reportedly signed with Chippa United as a free agent, following his departure from the Soweto giants earlier this year. According to the iDiski Times, the 34-year-old has been training with the ‘Chili Boys’ since December, and his move to the Eastern Cape club has now been confirmed.

Erasmus was one of several players released by Pirates in May, alongside Fortune Makaringe, Souaibou Marou, Siyabonga Mpontshane, Thabang Monare, and Richard Ofori. Chippa United’s assistant coach, Mabhuti Khenyeza, expressed confidence in Erasmus’ abilities, noting that his history in South African football and his international experience make him a valuable addition to the squad. “Everyone knows Kermit. His history speaks for itself, and with his experience and having played abroad, he’s at home now. He always makes sure he does better. We understand each other, and the connection was here all the time,” said Khenyeza, as reported by Timeslive.
