Unclaimed Prizes Could Expire Soon – Don’t Miss Out on Millions
In a surprising revelation, ITHUBA, the National Lottery operator in South Africa, announced that unclaimed lottery jackpot prizes across all their games have reached a staggering R257 million as of October 30, 2024. This eye-opening amount includes winnings from popular games such as PowerBall Plus, Daily Lotto, and more.
Major Unclaimed Prizes
Among the remarkable unclaimed jackpots is a PowerBall Plus prize exceeding R3.4 million, purchased on January 19, 2024, in Louis Trichardt, Limpopo. The ticket is set to expire on January 19, 2025.
Another significant unclaimed amount is a Daily Lotto prize of R640,100.00, bought in Carletonville, Gauteng, on January 5, 2024, which will expire on January 5, 2025.
What Happens to Unclaimed Winnings?
ITHUBA clarified that any winnings not claimed within 365 days from the draw date are forfeited. These funds are redirected to support community projects through the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF).

- Store your tickets in a safe location to avoid losing them.
