Match Highlights:

The game was a cagey affair in the opening stages, with both sides cancelling each other out. Arsenal had their chances, with Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz threatening on the counterattack. However, Bayern Munich gradually took control of possession and probed for the breakthrough. The Bavarians’ persistence paid off in the 63rd minute when Joshua Kimmich curled a delightful effort past David Raya to send the travelling supporters into raptures. Arsenal threw everything forward in search of an equalizer, but Bayern held firm to secure their place in the semi-finals.

Player Ratings:

  • T. Tomiyasu (6.5): Energetic down the left flank but lacked a final product.
  • D. Rice (6): A lively presence but couldn’t quite unlock the Bayern defence.
  • Jorginho (6): Showed flashes of brilliance but ultimately couldn’t influence the game enough.

  • M. de ligt (7): Composed and dominant at the heart of the Bayern defence.
  • N. Mazraoui (7): Strong defensively and provided good attacking outlet down the left.
  • L. Sane (6.5): A constant threat on the wing but couldn’t find the killer pass.
  • K. Laimer (6): Relatively quiet night but always a danger with his pace.
  • L. Goretzka (7): Controlled the tempo of the game in midfield.

What’s Next?

For Arsenal, the defeat marks the end of their European adventure. However, they can still salvage their season by finishing strong in the Premier League.
