Kaizer Chiefs were held to a goalless draw by Cape Town City on Saturday afternoon in their DStv Premiership encounter at Athlone Stadium. Amakhosi were looking for a win after losing the Soweto Derby to Orlando Pirates and heading to the Mother City, they were under pressure. Interim coach Cavin Johnson was definitely under pressure but his men stuttered in front of the goal.

City vs Chiefs: Johnson Reacts To Their Draw
In his post-match, the former Al Ahly mentor said Chiefs believes his side could have beaten City in their DStv Premiership goalless draw at Athlone Stadium on Saturday.
Chiefs did have chances to score in front of a capacity crowd in the Mother City, but so did the home side, and Amakhosi hardly piled pressure on the opposition.
“We should have won the game,” the Chiefs head coach told SuperSport TV after the match.
“We missed quite a few opportunities. But from the last game, the energy we put into the derby (Chiefs lost 3-2 to Pirates) and the energy we put in today, we are just climbing.
“We couldn’t score but we will probably get it right the next time. Thanks to the fans for coming out, we had a good welcome in Cape Town.”
City vs Chiefs: Log Table
In the wake of the draw, Chiefs now sit at number seven on the log table with 30 points and their quest to qualify for CAF interclub competitions continues.
Amakhosi will now prepare to meet as they have nine games to wrap up their disastrous campaign.
Up next for Chiefs is another bumper clash against another Cape-based outfit, Stellenbosch on Tuesday night and they are under pressure to secure a win.

What’s Next For Chiefs:
Amakhosi will now meet coach Steve Barker’s men who are also searching for a win after beating Royal AM 3-0 on Saturday.
