Requirements:

• An undergraduate qualification in Public Administration, Public Management, Operations, Human Resources, or Business Management at an NQF Level 6 as recognized by SAQA.
• At least one (1) year of clerical experience is an added advantage.
• Experience in a client and customer service environment is an added advantage.
• Sound knowledge of the Batho Pele Principles.
• A valid driver’s license (Code 10) and a valid Public Driver Permit (PDP).
• Basic knowledge of Public Service Regulations.
• Basic knowledge of the Departmental Legislation and Prescripts (Civic Services).
• Basic knowledge of Human Resource Regulatory Framework.
• Knowledge of Civic Services Operations.
• Basic knowledge of Civic Services Prescripts.

Duties:

The successful candidates for the Home Affairs Mobile Officers will be tasked with a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Supervising and managing the daily operations of Civic Services functions within the Mobile Offices, covering processes for Identity Documents, Birth, Marriage and Death (BMD), and Passport applications.
• Monitoring operations at various service points and managing queues efficiently to enhance client satisfaction.
• Ensuring the Mobile Office is properly maintained and inspected regularly to provide high-quality services.
• Conducting daily trips and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the Mobile Unit is always in optimal safety condition.
• Implementing effective risk management and compliance measures in accordance with relevant practices.
• Facilitating the delivery of client services to various service points and operating specialized equipment in both the front and back office as needed.
• Driving the mobile unit to designated service points and ensuring it is set up correctly and on time.
• Assisting clients, including those with disabilities, to embark and disembark the mobile units safely.
• Maintaining strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhering to and complying with relevant Civic Services frameworks and regulations.
• Supervising both human and physical resources within the unit to achieve operational excellence.
