Requirements:
- Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Specialist in Internal Medicine.
- HPCSA registration as a Medical Specialist in Internal Medicine.
- No experience required after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Internal Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the clinical management of general medical patients as a consultant.
- Lead operational and academic ward rounds including post-intake, follow-up, and grand rounds.
- Supervise registrars, medical officers, intern doctors, and students in patient care and the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Manage patients at OPD and attending the Sub-specialty OPD or Specialty Ward Consultations within a relevant Sub-specialty.
- Serve as a role model and clinical mentor to junior doctors and associate clinical staff, setting an exemplary standard as a medical practitioner.
- Coordinate specialty services at CMJAH and cluster hospitals for both inpatient and outpatient services.
- Supervise clinical technology services as required.
- Oversee the development of appropriate referrals pathways and services at referral hospitals.
- Overtime is mandatory.
- Academic:
- Participate in the academic duties of the Wits Internal Medicine and related Department.
- Perform and supervise research within the department and for MMed students.
- Train and supervise Senior registrars, registrars, and medical students including tutorials, teaching ward rounds, and skills development.
- Provide medical support and guidance to nursing staff.
- Registration with the HPCSA and Wits University as a fellow in Oncology.
