Spring has arrived on a high note, with Gauteng weather forecasted to be high this week beginning 4 September. According to the South African Weather Service, Pretoria temperatures should reach a scorching 30 Degrees Celsius during the day on Monday and remain around those temperatures for the remainder of the week.
Johannesburg residents will have some slight relief, with temperatures reaching 29 Degrees Celsius at the peak on Monday, falling to a cooler 23 by Wednesday and Thursday. They will however shoot back up to 30 Degrees Celsius by Sunday.
The probability of rain is zero for both cities.

Gauteng has a reputation for having one of the best climates in the world. The province’s summers are generally warm and free of wind and its winter days are cool and clear. Johannesburg and Pretoria differ in temperature by about 2% (Pretoria is the warmer of the two).

After a few cold fronts this winter, Gauteng residents celebrated the warmer weather through their annual Spring Day celebrations on the 1st of September. Twitter was ablaze with videos of men, women, and children trying to dodge the cold buckets of water being aimed at them while they were making their commutes. But unfortunately, no one was exempt, and many were chased down and unforgivingly soaked to their shoes. Much fun was had despite several people being drenched unsuspectingly with refreshingly icy water.
