Occurring just after Women’s Day and in time to commemorate Women’s Month, the new Miss South Africa for 2023 will be crowned at Sun International’s prestigious SunBet Arena in Pretoria, Gauteng. Just several days ago, South Africa’s most watched podcast ‘Podcast and Chill’ filled the venue to celebrate reaching a milestone of 1 million subscribers on YouTube.
The top 12 finalists were announced in June 2023. And in the build-up to the live event, SABC 3 hosted the Crown Chasers series in which audiences got a sneak peek into the process of becoming Miss South Africa, through a series of challenges, tasks, and mentorship sessions. Three of the ladies were eliminated; the rest will be competing to represent the country in the spectacular Miss South Africa contest on the 13th of August 2023.
The Miss South Africa Finalists are Ready for the Competition
Gauteng will be represented by three contestants (including one from the Vaal Triangle and one from Tshwane), the Western Cape and Eastern Cape each have two finalists. The Northern Cape holds the final representative.
The stunners have the brains to match their beauty; with a lawyer, a sports scientist, a pharmacist, an entrepreneur, and a master’s in agriculture graduate featured in the group.
L’Oréal Paris is one of the pageant’s sponsors and they have enlisted one of their most renowned ambassadors, Thuso Mbedu, to join the panel of judges.
