Teen Arrested for Fatal Stabbing in Modimolle
In the early hours of New Year’s Day, a 16-year-old girl was arrested in Modimolle, Limpopo, after fatally stabbing her 24-year-old boyfriend in an act of self-defence. The altercation began when the boyfriend allegedly assaulted the teenager after seeing her with another man. In a desperate attempt to escape, the girl drew a knife and fatally wounded her attacker. The victim, who sustained serious injuries, later succumbed to the wounds. The teenager faces charges of murder and will appear in court soon.
Double Murder in Lindley
In the Free State, a disturbing double murder involving a mother and her child has left the community in shock. Police responded to a report of a suspicious odor and flies emanating from a residence in Lindley on December 30. Upon investigation, authorities discovered the decomposed bodies of the victims, who had been missing since December 22. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victims, a mother and her young daughter, were murdered by the suspect, whose identity is yet to be fully confirmed. The suspect has been arrested and will appear in court facing murder charges.
Murder-Suicide in Ramokokastadt
A horrific case of domestic violence unfolded in Ramokokastadt, North West, where a 38-year-old man and his 26-year-old girlfriend were found dead in a veld on December 29. The woman, identified as Kefilwe Mosane, was found with stab wounds, while her boyfriend, Khumo Moatshe, was discovered hanging from a tree nearby. Preliminary investigations suggest that Mosane had recently moved out due to ongoing domestic violence. The couple’s tragic end is a stark reminder of the dangers of unresolved emotional and physical abuse within relationships.
