Key Responsibilities

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following primary duties:

1. Academic Delivery

Plan, deliver, and evaluate rigorous academic programs tailored to Senior Phase students.
Cultivate a stimulating and engaging learning environment, encouraging students to excel and reach their full potential.
Foster students’ critical thinking and problem-solving abilities through interactive and innovative lesson plans.

2. Academic Assessment & Reporting

Conduct continuous assessments to gauge and report on student progress, ensuring consistent academic growth.
Provide constructive feedback to students, guiding them toward academic improvement.
Maintain transparent and effective communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding progress and development.

3. Student Behaviour Management

Guide students in making informed academic and social choices.
Support and implement school policies on behaviour, fostering an environment of respect, collaboration, and discipline.
Act as a role model in demonstrating strength of character, integrity, and professionalism.

4. School Brand Ambassadorship

Promote ADvTECH’s values and uphold its reputation as a trusted education provider.
Engage with parents, guardians, and the community to strengthen partnerships and create a network of support for student development.
Represent ADvTECH and Pinnacle College as a dedicated, respectful, and open-minded educator.

5. Administration and Health & Safety

Handle administrative tasks related to lesson planning, assessments, and reporting.
Uphold health and safety standards within the school, ensuring the wellbeing of all students.
Be prepared to provide First Aid as required, ensuring a safe learning environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Requirements:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) and PGCE, or a B.Ed. in Senior Phase or FET with a focus on Natural Science or Mathematics.
Certification: Valid SACE registration and police clearance.
Teaching Experience: 2-5 years of general teaching experience, with a preference for experience in a specialist subject.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer and digital tools relevant to education.
First Aid: Basic certification in First Aid.
