Key Responsibilities
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following primary duties:
1. Academic Delivery
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate rigorous academic programs tailored to Senior Phase students.
- Cultivate a stimulating and engaging learning environment, encouraging students to excel and reach their full potential.
- Foster students’ critical thinking and problem-solving abilities through interactive and innovative lesson plans.
2. Academic Assessment & Reporting
- Conduct continuous assessments to gauge and report on student progress, ensuring consistent academic growth.
- Provide constructive feedback to students, guiding them toward academic improvement.
- Maintain transparent and effective communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding progress and development.
3. Student Behaviour Management
- Guide students in making informed academic and social choices.
- Support and implement school policies on behaviour, fostering an environment of respect, collaboration, and discipline.
- Act as a role model in demonstrating strength of character, integrity, and professionalism.
4. School Brand Ambassadorship
- Promote ADvTECH’s values and uphold its reputation as a trusted education provider.
- Engage with parents, guardians, and the community to strengthen partnerships and create a network of support for student development.
- Represent ADvTECH and Pinnacle College as a dedicated, respectful, and open-minded educator.
5. Administration and Health & Safety
- Handle administrative tasks related to lesson planning, assessments, and reporting.
- Uphold health and safety standards within the school, ensuring the wellbeing of all students.
- Be prepared to provide First Aid as required, ensuring a safe learning environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) and PGCE, or a B.Ed. in Senior Phase or FET with a focus on Natural Science or Mathematics.
- Certification: Valid SACE registration and police clearance.
- Teaching Experience: 2-5 years of general teaching experience, with a preference for experience in a specialist subject.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer and digital tools relevant to education.
- First Aid: Basic certification in First Aid.
