General Requirements

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Competency in Post-Specific Functions: Applicants should have experience and competence in the functions specific to the role.
• Language Proficiency: Applicants must be fluent in at least two official languages, one of which must be English.
• Educational Qualifications: A Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on the National Learner Record Database at NQF level 4 is required.
• Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

• Clean Record: Applicants must have no previous criminal or departmental convictions or cases pending.
• Appearance: No visible tattoos that conflict with the standards of the SAPS uniform.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of core duties, including:

1. Fleet Administration – Manage both the armored and operational vehicle fleets to ensure smooth operations.
2. Transport Management – Coordinate and provide transport support, ensuring safe and timely movement of personnel, vehicles, and equipment across various locations in South Africa.
3. Equipment Handling – Prepare and manage vehicles and their equipment based on the specific needs of each deployment.
4. Inspection and Maintenance – Conduct regular inspections, report damages or losses, and ensure proper maintenance of all allocated vehicles.
5. Policy Development Assistance – Support in creating policies and procedures for the mobilisation and use of vehicle fleets.
6. Regulatory Compliance – Ensure adherence to National Instructions, including those specific to the use of state and armored vehicles.
7. Reporting – Maintain accurate records and provide performance reports for integration into SAPS’s Annual Report.
8. Security Compliance – Ensure that all activities align with the Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS).
