Requirements:
- Undergraduate qualification (NQF7) in fields such as Development Studies, Accounting Sciences, Agriculture & Environmental Sciences, Economic & Management Sciences, Human Sciences, Science, Public Administration, Engineering & Technology, as recognized by SAQA.
- At least 3 years of experience at a Functional Specialist level in a Regional and Local Economic Development environment.
- A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

- Carry out research aimed at the competitive enhancement of small businesses and cooperatives. This includes desktop and primary research (designing research and surveys, collecting and analyzing data), and gathering information pertinent to regional and local economic development to support the growth of SMMEs and Cooperatives.
- Participate in the creation of policies and strategies to develop, improve, and execute development programs for better Regional and Local Economic Development. This involves developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), templates, and maintaining a database as a repository of knowledge and information on local government and related specialization areas.
- Aid in providing SMMEs and Cooperatives with access to business support, both financial and non-financial, across the Government.
- Conduct or assist in monitoring and drafting progress reports on the implementation within designated areas.
- Offer general administrative and logistical support to the business unit, including taking minutes during stakeholder meetings, providing logistical support for events, workshops, meetings, and managing the procurement of goods and services (such as catering and venue arrangements).
