Chiefs’ Star Nkosi Ngcobo is Excited to Renew His Contract
Talented midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo says he is excited and honoured to extend his stay with the Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs.
The left-footed midfielder, Mshini was handed a new contract extension for two years last week and says he must work hard to repay the faith shown by the club.
Together with goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen, Ngcobo will remain with the giants as he looks to become a key figure when the second round resumes.
Born in Pietermaritzburg, the Chiefs playmaker pledged his commitment to the Amakhosi’s plan of returning to success and hopefully ending a nine-year trophy drought.
“I shall work hard to ensure that I contribute as much as I can as the team works on securing a trophy for the multitudes of supporters who are always behind us,” he said.
Looking at his contribution for coach Cavin Johnson-coached side, the 24-year-old Bafana Bafana international is yet to show his true potential but is a promising star for the future.
Ngcobo has made 87 appearances for Chiefs next to his name coupled with seven goals and has also produced three assists so far.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old Bvuma saw his 10-year stay at the club extended for at least two more seasons, which keeps him at the club until June 2026, with an option to extend for a further year.
“I’m extremely humbled and grateful for the opportunity to continue representing Kaizer Chiefs,” said Bvuma.
“This club has been my home for years, and I am highly motivated to work even harder for our fans and to bring more success to the gold-and-black jersey.”
Coming back to the league, Amakhosi were expected to return to DStv Premiership action on Tuesday against ninth-placed TS Galaxy, but the midweek matches have been postponed by the PSL.
