Kaizer Chiefs Announces a Deal for Integral Players
Kaizer Chiefs announced new deals for key players such as Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Brandon Petersen, and Bruce Bvuma.
Despite speculation regarding their futures at Naturena, Kaizer Chiefs opted to announce new contracts for three players.
Amakhosi have renewed contracts for the trio in the form of two goalkeepers, Bruce Bvuma, Brandon Petersen, and talented midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.
Per an announcement through the club’s media social media channels, Chiefs revealed that exciting midfielder Ngcobo and keepers Bvuma and Petersen’s contracts were set to expire at the end of the current DStv Premiership campaign.
The Soweto giants acted swiftly to tie the two Bafana Bafana keepers down for another two years with the Naturena-based PSL outfit.
A former Chiefs development product, Ngcobo signed a new two-year deal with an option of another year in 2026 as he looks to cement his spot in the Amakhosi central midfield.
Following the developments, Chiefs’ sporting director Kaizer Motaung Junior said the players have earned new deals because of their dedication to the Soweto giants.
“Bruce, ‘Mshini’ [Ngcobo], and Brandon have shown immense potential as Chiefs players and have displayed great dedication to the club,” Motaung Jr said.
“We believe in their abilities and are confident they will continue to be an integral part of our team’s success in the coming years. We are excited to see them reach new heights.”
The 24-year-old Ngcobo who has been with Amakhosi’s senior side since 2017, vowed to repay the faith shown by the club in him.
“I shall work hard to ensure that I contribute as much as I can as the team works on securing a trophy for the multitudes of supporters who are always behind us,” Ngcobo said.
As SportPlus and Gauteng News published, the 28-year-old keeper, Bvuma recently made his way to the starting eleven after the former Ajax Cape Town keeper Petersen and veteran net minder, Itumeleng Khune were the preferred choices under ex-mentor Molefi Ntseki.
“I’m humbled and grateful for the opportunity to continue representing Kaizer Chiefs,” said Bvuma.
“This club has been my home for years and I am highly motivated to work harder for our fans and bring more success to the gold and black jersey.”
On the other hand, the Cape Town-born Petersen expressed delight after extending his deal with the Glamour Boys, saying he is happy to continue his journey with Chiefs.
“We need to keep working hard as a collective so we can reward the chair and the millions of supporters who fill our stadiums every week to see us play by bringing some silverware to Naturena,” he said.
Meanwhile, under interim manager Cavin Johnson, Chiefs will hope to end the unwanted trophy drought they have endured for eight seasons.
The Glamour Boys have the DStv Premiership trophy to fight for and have to unseat bitter rivals, Orlando Pirates as Nedbank Cup title holders in the current Campaign.
