Eskom has outlined detailed time slots and affected areas to manage grid stability during peak consumption periods.
What Is Load Reduction and Why It Matters Load reduction is Eskom’s planned intervention to protect the power grid during high-risk periods. Unlike loadshedding, which is rotational, load reduction targets areas with high illegal connections and overloading.
For Gauteng, this process is crucial. It helps prevent prolonged blackouts and infrastructure damage. With summer approaching and electricity use on the rise, communities need to prepare.
