About the MultiChoice Talent Factory
The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) is a pan-African initiative to nurture and develop the next generation of passionate and talented African storytellers. The MTF offers various programmes and platforms, such as the MTF Academy, the MTF Portal, the MTF Masterclasses, and the MTF Film Festival, to empower and inspire young creatives across the continent.
The MTF Academy internship is a 12-month industry readiness programme that offers an exclusive opportunity for South African creatives to work and learn with some of the leading TV and film producers in the country. The programme covers various topics and skills, such as directing, producing, cinematography, commissioning, art direction, and more. The programme also provides access to state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, and resources and mentorship and networking opportunities with industry experts and peers.
Who Can Apply for the MTF Academy?
The MTF Academy extends an invitation to South African citizens who are deeply passionate about storytelling and aspire to shine in the TV and film industry. To be eligible for this transformative opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: Possession of a 3-year diploma or degree in Film and TV, or a related field, is essential. This requirement ensures that candidates have a foundational understanding of the industry.
- Academic Performance: A minimum aggregate of C+ in your qualifications. This criterion is set to maintain a standard of academic excellence among applicants.
- Personal Motivation Letter: Submission of a 500-word letter articulating your suitability for the program. This letter is your opportunity to convey your passion, aspirations, and how this program aligns with your career goals.
- Professional Resume: A concise CV, limited to 2 pages, showcasing your academic achievements and any practical experience you have garnered. This document should reflect your journey and readiness for this industry.
- Proof of Identity: A certified copy of your South African Identity Document is required to verify your citizenship and eligibility.
- Academic Documentation: Certified copies of your matric certificate, academic transcripts, and tertiary qualification certificate are necessary to validate your educational background.
- Banking Details: Provision of verified banking details with a bank stamp or an official letter from your bank. This requirement is crucial for any financial transactions related to the program.
- Residential Affidavit: An affidavit confirming your residential address is needed for logistical and administrative purposes.
