Monnapule Saleng’s agent, Karabo Tshabuse, has finally set the record straight after months of speculation surrounding the Orlando Pirates winger’s absence from action. Dismissing claims of a fallout with the club over money and rubbishing reports linking him with Egyptian giants Al Ahly, Tshabuse has moved to clarify the situation.
The 27-year-old, who recently completed a loan switch to Betway Premiership newcomers Orbit College, has endured a turbulent eight months filled with rumours about his future. According to Tshabuse, the move is a fresh start aimed at helping Saleng rediscover his best form.
“Saleng’s mental fitness did not match his physical fitness last season,” Tshabuse explained. “As his agent, my responsibility is to look after my client. It’s not my job to constantly go to the media to justify why he wasn’t playing. Sometimes when things are unclear, the best we can do is avoid tearing down the player on social media.”
No Rift with Pirates, No Al Ahly Offer
Addressing speculation of financial disputes and overseas interest, Tshabuse was clear:
- There were no contractual issues between Saleng and Orlando Pirates.
- The winger had actually benefitted from his Pirates deal, using it to secure property and stability off the pitch.
- Reports of Al Ahly making an offer were “completely untrue,” as Saleng had no desire to leave South Africa at the time.
“Pirates cannot be faulted for what the player went through,” Tshabuse stressed. “Saleng was never looking for an exit. He was invested in the club but was simply going through personal challenges.”
Focus on Revival
While acknowledging that many PSL stars dream of playing in Europe, Tshabuse insisted Saleng’s heart was with Pirates. The loan to Orbit College, she said, is not a step back but an opportunity for him to reset and return stronger.
“The goal is simple: get Saleng back to his best again,” Tshabuse concluded.
Monnapule Saleng: Ready to Rise Again
As he begins a new chapter with Orbit College, Monnapule Saleng’s focus is firmly on rebuilding his confidence and returning to the level that once made him one of the most exciting wingers in the PSL. With his agent clearing up speculation and reaffirming his commitment to Orlando Pirates, the 27-year-old now has the platform to silence the noise and prove his best football is still ahead of him.
