Johannesburg Power Outage to Hit 35 Areas on 25 June 2025

Staying Warm During the Outage
With winter chills settling in, here are three clever ways to stay warm when the power goes out:
- Double up on blankets – Wrap two or more blankets tightly around your waist or underarms. Just don’t overdo it—sweating can actually make you colder.
- Insulate your hands and feet – Wear gloves, thick socks or fluffy shoes. No gloves? Your pockets are your friends.
- Use candles or a safe fire – Create a small heat source with candles (safely!), or light a fire outdoors or in a fireplace to gather around with family.
Important Reminder
Residents are urged to plan accordingly, charge devices beforehand, and treat all appliances as live to avoid safety risks. For updates, follow City Power’s official communication channels.
