Johannesburg Faces 8-Hour Power Outage on 11 February 2025
Johannesburg residents are preparing for an 8-hour planned power outage on Tuesday, 11 February 2025, which will affect 30 suburbs across the city. The power outage is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM and end at 4:00 PM, with maintenance work being carried out at the Wemmer Substation.

Reason for the Outage in Johannesburg
City Power, Johannesburg’s electricity supply service, announced the outage as a necessary measure for essential maintenance work on its electricity network. This outage is aimed at improving and maintaining the infrastructure that supports electricity distribution to the affected suburbs.

Illegal Connections in Kew
