Severe Weather Warnings for 6 February 2025
SAWS has issued Yellow Level 2 warnings for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, hail, strong winds, and excessive lightning. These conditions could lead to localized flooding and infrastructure damage in Gauteng, the central and eastern Free State, the eastern North West, and parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

Fire Danger Warnings

North West

Free State
- Weather: Cloudy, warm to hot, and windy, with widespread thundershowers in the east.
Northern Cape
- Weather: Fine in the extreme west, but cloudy and warm in other areas. Isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers are expected in the north and east.
Western Cape
- Weather: Partly cloudy to cloudy over the southern and eastern parts, with isolated showers and rain along the south coast. The UV index will be very high, so sun protection is necessary.
Eastern Cape (Western Half)
- Weather: Cloudy and cool with isolated showers and rain, more frequent along the coast and eastern parts.
Eastern Cape (Eastern Half)
- Weather: Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers, widespread in the east.
KwaZulu-Natal
- Weather: Cloudy, cool to warm, with widespread showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the extreme northeast.
