Requirements:
- A Degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years post-qualification Quantity Surveyor experience.
- Compulsory registration with SACQSP as a Professional Quantity Surveyor.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of the Public Service Act of 1994.
- Knowledge of Public Service Regulations, 2016.
- Understanding of PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
- Familiarity with Provincial/Departmental SCM policies.
- Awareness of the Government Immovable Asset Management Act of 2007.
- Knowledge of the National Building Standards Act of 1977 and Regulations.
- Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993 and Regulations.

Duties:
- Coordinate professional teams on all aspects regarding quantity surveying.
- Ensure adherence to quantity determination standards.
- Provide quantity survey advice and technical support in the evaluation of costs.
- Ensure the adoption of technical and quality strategies.
- Develop quantity surveying related policies, methods, and practices.
- Offer solutions for non-compliance on quantity determination.
- Review cost determinations and estimates by building designers and/or sub professional personnel.
- Mentor, train, and develop candidate quantity surveyors and related technical and administrative personnel for skill/knowledge transfer and adherence to principles and code of practice.
- Supervise quantity survey work and processes.
- Administer performance management and development.
- Prepare and consolidate inputs for resource utilization.
- Undertake continuous professional development in line with council guidelines.
- Conduct research and literature studies to enhance quantity surveying expertise.
- Liaise with relevant bodies and councils on quantity surveying matters.
- Ensure adherence to regulations and procedures for procurement, SCM, and human resource administration.
- Monitor and control expenditure.
- Report on expenditure and service delivery.
