  • Duration: 12 Months
  • Stipend: R114,080.00 p.a

About the Programme:

The UNISA Internship Programme offers a unique opportunity for unemployed South African citizens who have completed a UNISA qualification (3 years National Diploma or Degree) at NQF level 6 and above. If you’re eager to gain practical experience in your field of study, this programme is designed for you!

This programme is not just about gaining hands-on experience; it’s about empowerment and growth. As an intern, you’ll have the chance to apply your academic knowledge to real-world scenarios, working alongside experienced professionals who are dedicated to mentoring and guiding you every step of the way.

Roles Available

2024 UNISA Internship Roles

Key Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in relevant field
  • No formal work experience required
  • Not older than 35 years

Requirements:

To excel in the UNISA Internship Programme, candidates must possess a diverse set of skills and attributes that will enable them to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Here are the requirements we’re looking for:

  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in office automation packages, including the Microsoft Office Suite, and a strong understanding of internet usage are essential.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, coupled with excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette.
  • Initiative and Teamwork: Proven capability to take initiative and contribute effectively within a team setting while operating under supervision.
  • Prioritization and Attention to Detail: The ability to prioritize tasks, maintain accuracy, and go the extra mile to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Commitment and Punctuality: A strong sense of commitment, responsibility, and punctuality are fundamental traits for success in our programme.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Capacity to perform well under pressure and meet strict deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Proficiency in English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential for effective collaboration and documentation.
  • Confidentiality: Understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to identify challenges, analyze situations, and propose effective solutions.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills to efficiently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Multitasking Abilities: Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of work.

In addition to the above requirements, candidates should possess the following ICT competencies:

  • Basic Understanding of Computer Hardware, Operating Systems, and Networking Concepts: Knowledge of fundamental concepts related to computer hardware, operating systems, and networking is advantageous.
  • Software and Systems Installations: Familiarity with software and systems installations processes is desirable.
  • Independent and Collaborative Work: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment to achieve common goals.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills to interpret data, troubleshoot issues, and make informed decisions.
