How does South African Fashion Week work?
SAFW occurs over a three-day period, where designers showcase their designs for the next season. The Spring/Summer collections displayed are for those seasons the following year, and the same goes for the Autumn/ Winter shows. The structure of South African Fashion Week consists of four shows that often feature multiple designers per show. Some shows are sponsored by special brands, who will then pick designers that they want to display. These brands include Isuzu, Cruz Vodka and Mr Price.
Fashion Week is always an exciting time across the world and it brings people together to witness the exciting world of fashion and design, which is always a treat. people get to celebrate local designers, and see the South African fashion world for what it is, with tons of talented designers and models. It is truly not something to sneeze at.
