Johannesburg emergency services are on high alert as the South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms and disruptive rain across Gauteng. The Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS), led by spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi, has confirmed that they are closely monitoring the situation.
“So far, no major incidents have been reported overnight and this morning throughout the city of Johannesburg due to severe thunderstorms. We still remain on high alert, monitoring all seven regions of the city,” said Mulaudzi.
