March SASSA Grants Payment Dates

SASSA confirmed the following payment dates for March 2025:

Older Persons’ Grants – 4 March
Disability Grants – 5 March
Child Support Grants – 6 March

Government Acknowledges a ‘Crisis’

Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe recently admitted that Postbank was unprepared for the March grant payments, further describing the situation as a “crisis”. Speaking to MPs on 25 February, she revealed that no clear strategy was in place to manage the Gold Card replacement process efficiently.

“Indeed, there is a crisis. It is a crisis because we identified that there seems to be no plan. If there is a plan, I have yet to see it. Myself and the team can say without fear or contradiction that there is no plan,” she stated.

This lack of preparation has left thousands of grant recipients without access to their funds, despite government reassurances that the transition would be smooth.
