Chery has discreetly lowered the starting price of its most budget-friendly crossover in South Africa by at least R10,000, making the Tiggo 4 Pro even more accessible to buyers.
The entry-level Tiggo 4 Pro LiT Manual, originally introduced in late 2023 at R279,900, now comes at a slightly reduced cost of R269,900. Similarly, the Tiggo 4 Pro LiT Automatic has undergone a significant price adjustment, now retailing for R299,900, reflecting a R15,000 drop.
Line-Up Adjustments
A glance at Chery South Africa’s website suggests a restructuring of the Tiggo 4 Pro range following the arrival of the Tiggo Cross, which is essentially a facelifted version of the Tiggo 4 Pro. However, due to the Tiggo 4 Pro’s strong sales performance in South Africa, Chery opted to keep it in the line-up, positioning the Tiggo Cross as a more premium alternative.
Previously offered in 10 different specifications, the Tiggo 4 Pro range has been streamlined to six trims, excluding the two panel van configurations.

Performance and Efficiency
As before, the Tiggo 4 Pro continues to be available with a choice of a naturally aspirated (NA) 1.5-litre petrol engine or a turbocharged version of the same powerplant.
- The NA variants deliver 83kW and 138Nm, paired with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Fuel consumption stands at 7.0l/100km for the manual and 6.8l/100km for the CVT.
- The turbocharged models produce 108kW and 210Nm and are available with either a CVT or a six-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), with fuel efficiency ranging between 6.7-6.8l/100km.
