Key Responsibilities

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following primary duties:

1. Academic Delivery

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate rigorous academic programs tailored to Senior Phase students.
• Cultivate a stimulating and engaging learning environment, encouraging students to excel and reach their full potential.
• Foster students’ critical thinking and problem-solving abilities through interactive and innovative lesson plans.

2. Academic Assessment & Reporting

• Conduct continuous assessments to gauge and report on student progress, ensuring consistent academic growth.
• Provide constructive feedback to students, guiding them toward academic improvement.
• Maintain transparent and effective communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding progress and development.

3. Student Behaviour Management

• Guide students in making informed academic and social choices.
• Support and implement school policies on behaviour, fostering an environment of respect, collaboration, and discipline.
• Act as a role model in demonstrating strength of character, integrity, and professionalism.

4. School Brand Ambassadorship

• Promote ADvTECH’s values and uphold its reputation as a trusted education provider.
• Engage with parents, guardians, and the community to strengthen partnerships and create a network of support for student development.
• Represent ADvTECH and Pinnacle College as a dedicated, respectful, and open-minded educator.

5. Administration and Health & Safety

• Handle administrative tasks related to lesson planning, assessments, and reporting.
• Uphold health and safety standards within the school, ensuring the wellbeing of all students.
• Be prepared to provide First Aid as required, ensuring a safe learning environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) and PGCE, or a B.Ed. in Senior Phase or FET with a focus on Natural Science or Mathematics.
• Certification: Valid SACE registration and police clearance.
• Teaching Experience: 2-5 years of general teaching experience, with a preference for experience in a specialist subject.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer and digital tools relevant to education.
• First Aid: Basic certification in First Aid.
