Employee Wellbeing Specialist Vacancy Details

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum Requirements:
  • Educational Qualification: NQF 7 Degree in Industrial Psychology, Psychology, Social Work.
  • Certifications: EAP/wellness practitioner or management certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years in Employee Assistance Programme / Wellness, including at least three (3) years managing an EAP / Wellness function.
  • Licenses: Valid Driver’s License.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Proficiency in computer literacy, encompassing MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Vision).
    • A foundational understanding of Labour Law (LRA, EEA, BCEA, OHSA), along with employee health, wellness, and benefit administration.
    • Solid project management skills.
    • Intermediate knowledge of the higher education sector.
    • Experience and knowledge regarding employee wellbeing legislation, including the Employment Equity Act and related legislation.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years of specialist experience in the employee well-being field.
  • Advanced project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the higher education sector.
  • Broad exposure to the functions of employee wellbeing.
  • Understanding of the NSFAS Act and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).

Role Responsibilities and Duties:

• Policy, Systems & Procedure Implementation:
  • Maturing of employee wellbeing policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Development and socialisation of wellbeing policies through presentations.
  • Implementation of these policies and processes across the organisation.
• Core Objectives Implementation:
  • Input into the HR value proposition relating to wellness practices.
  • Analysis of wellness trends and reporting to management.
  • Design and execution of NSFAS’s wellness program, including awareness campaigns and professional counselling.
  • Coordination with internal and external stakeholders for successful program implementation.
  • Budget management and reporting on wellness initiatives and outcomes.
• People Management & Ethical Leadership:
  • Inspiring and mentoring team members in alignment with NSFAS Values.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Relationships:
  • Collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate wellness programs.
• Project Management & Leadership:
  • Supervision of projects addressing employee wellbeing needs.
• Budget Optimisation and Risk, Compliance Monitoring & Evaluation:
  • Forecasting and managing expenditures for wellbeing activities.
  • Ensuring compliance and risk mitigation for wellbeing interventions.

Benefits/Opportunities

• Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary range: R1,024,356 – R1,206,638 annually, inclusive of comprehensive benefits.
